Why are you a goalie?
When I first started there wasn't anyone else who wanted to play so I figured I would give it a try. I grew to love it. From then on I enjoyed the glory of the position and the importance and pressure of it.
How important is the goalie position?
Goalie is the most important position on the field. They are the anchor and leader of the defense, they are the last line of defense and can control the outcome of the game alone.
Any advice for aspiring goalies?
I would say it is important for goalies to practice as much as they can and go to as many camps. The more shots and practice they can get the better off they will be. Foot work is very important to becoming a good goalie. The most important part of being a goalie is confidence in your ability to make any save against any shooter.
Quote regarding the goalie position
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triupmhs even though checkered by failure, then to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat."    Theodore Roosevelt
