We are sponsored
by brine, so my chest protector comes from them. It has that bead
technology, but I think they are all pretty much the same. I think
I wear Brine gloves too, but none of the gloves really prevent painful
shots in the thumb anyway. I use an eclipse with stx hard mesh n
a Triax pole by Debeer. I don't really think gear matters except
the stick, and I prefer hard mesh and the offset nature of the eclipse. |

Why do
you play?
The friendships with my teammates |
Why are
you a goalie?
There is no feeling like making a save |
How important
is the goalie position?
Goalie has to ability to make or break the game for his team. A
goalie can make the offense better with quick outlets and the defense
better by being a vocal presence. |
Any advice
for aspiring goalies?
Believe you can save the ball.
Develop good stick skills so you can be a presence outside the goal.
Always work on your positioning in the goal. |
Quote
regarding the goalie position
See the ball, be the ball, save the ball. |
“ Roy has played in spurts recently.
Although our defense has not played our best yet. They have left Roy
to face a lot of tough shots. He is a fierce competitor and very tough
on himself. Our success is in his hands in a lot of ways. He has a
great knack for seeing the field and recognizing the situation. Roy
has stepped up in a very difficult situation. He is playing better
than he ever has. ”
