Other Positions I've always been a goalie, and love it because it's the best position out on the field. Although I've always wanted to score a goal.
Preferred Gear I started out using all Brine equipment in high school because my coach's husband was a rep. so I've always been partial to their gloves- love them!! But I recently got a new stick- the eclipse, with the debeers shaft that's pretty nice-and always have to have the hard mesh since it's more durable I think!! Brine chest protector, STX shinguards, and I will occasionally wear thigh pads that I think are by Warrior. I guess it's mainly about comfort and what I'm used to playing with. The most important things for me are the stick and gloves!
Favorite food I don't think I have just one- but definitely Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, mom's wonderful apple pie and chicken dishes, and dad's oatmeal cookies!!!
Favorite cd Tim Mcgraw, and my warm up mixes to get pumped for lax games!!
Favorite movie The Little Rascals, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Lilo & Stitch

Why do you play?
I play lacrosse because it's an exciting game, something I am very passionate about, and I love being part of a fun and successful team. It's allowed me to grow as a person, becoming a better leader on and off the field, communicating well with others, and working hard to attain various personal and team goals.
Why are you a goalie?
I love being a goalie. I feel a certain level of intensity and hunger needs to be maintained out on the field (in games and practice) and it's the goalie's job to keep the team together; something that I love doing. It may sound strange, but yes, I love having people shoot at me. and I cannot imagine myself playing any other position out there.
How important is the goalie position?
The goalie position, I think, is the most important position out on the field. A goalie needs to be a leader, someone who can direct the defense, start the movement of the ball up the field, and be extremely hungry for the ball. Without a goalie, the game would not be as competitive or as intense I don't think, and it definitely wouldn't be as exciting!!
Any advice for aspiring goalies?
To always be confident in yourself and believe. It's a very demanding position, physically and mentally, and it's important to keep your head in it whether you're up by 5, or down by 10. Always step to the ball, be big, and NEVER give up!

Quote regarding the goalie position
I really like this Larry Bird quote because it captures the fact that anyone can do anything they set their mind to as long as they work hard and persevere through everything.

"A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals."
