Why do you play?
Tough question. I just can't imagine my life without playing. It's become a part of me that I don't want to live without.
Why are you a goalie?
That's where I was put my first year playing and things just kept getting better.
How important is the goalie position?
Without a doubt, goalie is the most important position on the field. You're the only player that can see everything as it happens, and you need to know the game inside and out. You also need to be a leader on the team that anyone can turn to.
Any advice for aspiring goalies?
Practice, practice, practice. I am certainly not a gifted athlete, but I am a good goalie because I work hard on my techniques and other skills. Never give up either-you're going to get scored on, sometimes more than you would like. But if you fall apart, so does your team. Always stay confident, strong, and positive.
Quote regarding the goalie position
Not everyone can be a goalie. It takes just the right combination of athleticism, personality, and courage. We are our own special breed, and we are all a family.

Giulia was the leader of our defense this season. She was an effective communicator that organized our defensive unit. Game after game she would come up with the big save when needed. Her ability to accurately clear the ball long distances made the transition game more effective. She will be greatly missed as a member of the Susquehanna Lacrosse team.
