Importance of Goalie Position I believe that the goalie not only has to be fearless, but has to possess an attitude different than any other field position... The goal keeper is the captain and the voice of the defense, she sees everything in its whole as it's happening, and she needs to point things out and psych up her defense so they are prepared for the oncoming attack! To be a keeper one must be disciplined, it is very difficult to stay positive when you get racked with balls everyday at practice and then at games... but keeping one's composure is an active ingredient in being a strong goal tender!
