Head Coach
Jim Townsend
McDaniel College
Division III

Brief Bio

“With Jim Townsend, it’s all about timing. That timing is not limited to his slide packages on defense, or to his cutters slicing towards the net. Timing for Townsend transcends his life in lacrosse. On August 13, 2002, McDaniel College hired the grizzled veteran of upstate New York winters as the program’s sixth coach in its modern history. For Townsend, that news was just in time for a bit more good news, his wife Kit gave birth to their son J.D. just 10 days later. Taking over a team ranked 11th in the Inside Lacrosse / Face-off Yearbook preseason poll, and led by a pair of preseason All-Americans, it seems Townsend picked a good time to come to "The Hill." ”
