Why do you play?
I play because I enjoy it. I love the competition and I love the
relationships I have built with my teammates over the years. |
Why are you a goalie?
I first became a goalie because upper classmen at my high school
coaxed me into trying it, but I have stuck with it over the years
because I like the challenges the position possesses. |
How important is the
goalie position?
The goalie position is vital because it can either make or break
a team. Goalies can make a huge difference in games and are often
considered the backbone of every team. |
Any advice for aspiring
goalies?
Well, it's really easy to get down on yourself after a few goals
have been scored on you, but One of the most important things I've
learned over the years is how to let it go and bounce back. If you
dwell on your mistakes, you're not going to be able to play the
way you're capable of playing. You just have to learn from them
and keep you're head up. |
Quote regarding the
goalie position
The goalie position is the most challenging and mental position
I have ever played, but the feeling of making a great save and helping
your team to win ultimately makes it all worthwhile. |
Comments from 2003:
“ Ashley has done well for us
during her sophomore and junior years. She will continue to
grow and I anticipate that her maturity and experience will make a
huge difference in the next two years. Her best game in 2003
allowed us to upset the #3 ranked team in the nation. She was
instrumental in the win with 14 saves. ”
