Why do you play?
I play lacrosse for so many reasons. It's such a unique sport that
it just starting to catch on around the country. It's such a physical
game like football, but it takes precise stickwork like in hockey.
There is never a dull part of a game, the rules make it so teams
are always moving upfield and attacking the goal. It also gives
kids a huge opportunity to earn scholarship to get into college. |
Why are you a goalie?
When i saw my first lacrosse game in middle school i remember seeing
right away that the goalie was the one player on the field who could
make the difference in a game. He has the chance to make the game
winning save as time winds down. I love being the person that can
be the deciding factor in whether we win or lose. |
How important is the
goalie position?
Every postition plays equal importance when you are working for
a win. Goalie is just as important as D, middie, or attack. But,
since there is only one goalie and not three like at the other positions
all the focus is centered on the one player. |
Any advice for aspiring
goalies?
My advice to young goalies is to find what works for goalies in
highschool and college and try to incorporate the differenct techniques
into their game. Since, no two players are the same you can't just
pick one person to totally shape your game after. |
Quote regarding the
goalie position
The goalie must be a leader on the field directing the defense at
all times, when winning and most importantly when losing. |
