Why do you play?
I've always had a competitive nature and love for sports .
Why are you a goalie?
No one wanted to play the position in high school, so I gave it a try, and loved it
How important is the goalie position?
Very important because they are responsible for directing the defense, however they are only as good as the defense in front of them. I'm lucky to have the best defense in the nation on front of me.
Any advice for aspiring goalies?
Being focused is the absolute most important part of being a goalie. So my advice would be to find what it takes to focus you, whether its during warm-ups or the night before a game. Also, know that focus has to come from within, not from your coaches or teammates.
Quote regarding the goalie position
No matter how many times you get scored on, always remember you have 11 other teammates that your opponent must beat to get to you. Don't ever hold yourself responsible for a loss.

Comments from 2003:

Stacey is an exciting GK to watch as she is willing to take a calculated risk which usually ends up in her favor. She is exceptional both in the cage and around the crease. Her 63% save average has been consistent all season and it has been a pleasure to watch her grow into the top goalie in our division. She is a coaches dream.
