Lacrosse Number & Why #1, I'm not really a player who has a favorite number and insists on wearing that same number all the time. The goalie who I replaced wore number one, and in keeping with that goalie tradition, I decided to wear number one as well when my time came.

Why do you play?
I play most for the competition and for the valuable lessons learned from being part of a team like we have at W&L. It is a tough sport, but the results are tremendous.
Why are you a goalie?
I am a goalie because I like the pressure and the leadership role the position entails. The goalie is the "quarterback" of the defense, but at the same time, all eyes are on you to perform well. Honestly, I also like the feeling after making a big save!
How important is the goalie position?
The position is extremely important to a team. I've heard someone before say it is the last line of defense and the first line of offense. The tone of a game can be set by a goalie's play.
Any advice for aspiring goalies?
Don't get frustrated with yourself no matter what. Goals will be scored undoubtedly. Just say to yourself, I'm going to get the next one. Have faith in yourself and teammates. Also, be assertive and a team leader. Both are essential for the position.
Quote regarding the goalie position
Being a goalie is tough, but it is the greatest position on the lacrosse field. You can single handedly change a game and lead a team to success.
